Co-founders, Cindy and Diane, first met while they were both pregnant and walking their dogs (Lily and Jazz). For years, they carpooled to school, played in the local park and developed a deep respect for each other as mothers and creators trying to contribute to a world they want their families to live in. Today, their children are twenty somethings, and their second generation of dogs (Koda and Nya) are still playing together. 




The world has changed, A LOT, in two decades making the pathway to a fulfilling career and life much less clear. Cindy and Diane are committed to supporting young people as they journey through school and into adulthood with honest, transparent and actionable information and support. 


They created Futre so that every young person in America can design and launch the life they want to lead.


Diane Tavenner

Co-Founder & CEO

For 20 years, Diane was the Co-founder and CEO of Summit Public Schools, a nationally-recognized nonprofit school system that earned many accolades and distinctions, most notably America’s Best High Schools from US News and World Report, America’s Most Challenging High Schools by the Washington Post and one of the world’s Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Education from Fast Company.




Diane is the author of the best-selling book Prepared: What Kids Need for a Fulfilled Life and she co-hosts the podcast, Class Disrupted, with Michael Horn. 

She serves as the Board Chairperson for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, the Pahara Institute, and Minerva University. She is a board member at Transcend Education and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN) moderator corp.


Diane holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Southern California and has a master’s degree in administration and policy analysis from Stanford University.

Cindy Wang is a veteran software product leader who has launched products in diverse areas of content, search, as well as web and mobile apps. Most recently, Cindy led a team at Athena Health building a modern clinical data system and clinical knowledge graph for drugs, diseases and other healthcare concepts. 


In her decade at Yahoo and Verizon Media, Cindy’s team of data scientists and engineers built, from the ground up, a web-scale Knowledge Graph of billions of nodes. Leading product vision, roadmap, and metrics, Cindy also built diverse partnerships to fully leverage the Knowledge Graph, including AI based research projects that power consumer products.




As the founder of Organicpicks.com, Cindy combined her passion for the environment and healthy living with her love of building products and companies from scratch. Cindy’s curiosity about how everything works drove her early career as an electrical engineer at Intel Corp.

Cindy holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
